Sunday Ramblings

Steven and I are quite proud of ourselves. We have discovered that we have some creativity in us after all! This is the birdie update. Jacob was grounded, obviously, and we took away all the things he loves for three days. (It was two the first time he did it.) And since this isn't a first offense, we felt like more needed to be done. So we brainstormed. What we came up with is this: if he had said a cuss word, we probably would have washed out his mouth. But he didn't SAY one, even though he intended one. So, seems to me then the answer would be to take the finger out of service for awhile. Kind of hard, right? HA! We are so good. We found a pair of gloves and taped the three big fingers together and had him wear them for almost the whole day yesterday. HE HATED IT!!!! He griped and complained about them all day long! He couldn't zip his pants, he couldn't open a book, he couldn't put the napkins out when he set the table, and he couldn't really help me cook like he really wanted. He was BUMMED! And it made it all the funnier that the only pair of gloves we could find were the pink princess ones Ashley has!! What a memory.

A couple of other CSM's to record: (In case you are out of touch and old, CSM means cute sweet moment)
*Christopher discovered this morning that the van has "pushpedals!" He was overjoyed to know that one makes it go and one makes it stop. So when we came to an intersection today, he told me "push the stop pushpedal mom!" and "push the go pushpedal!"
*We were getting the kids ready for bed this evening and, of course, the routine is brush teeth, potty, bed. The boys were going first, and Christopher was pottying and I looked over at him to see him peeing with his arms completely stretched out wide on either side of him touching the walls. I quickly informed Steven that he has not done his daddy job of teaching the boy to aim and pee correctly! He's slacking--he's almost 5!!!

Yep, never a dull moment at our house!!

Love the glove idea! I bet he was very unhappy! Hopefully that will fix the problem.

Yes if this is successful (taping the glove idea) and we catch him kissing again then we'll tape a glove to his tounge.
